The application

Scarcity is a kind of power. Pull back at the moment you are most wanted; the room reorganises around your absence. Used carefully this is grace. Used carelessly it is petulance.

The defensive tell — how to spot it being run on you

When a leader who is normally constantly visible goes suddenly quiet for a week, the silence is rarely accidental. They are letting the room negotiate against itself, and they are returning at the moment of maximum demand. Notice the pattern; do not rush to interpret it as weakness.
